Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
On a cold December morning we saw this view of Buddha Temple from near Mather Point at the South Rim of Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park. Painting an 8" x 10" canvas of Grand Canyon can be challenging, but rewarding, as the painting comes together in one studio session. I use my same style and technique on these small works of art as my large scale artworks. The vertical Kaibab Limestone cliff edge and pines, frame the colorful sculptured temples and buttes.
I love painting the GRANDest Canyon on earth!

Nope - this can NOT be small scale! This has the feel of a huge canvas, beautiful nuance and detail and color range - simply magnificent! REALLY GREAT WORK!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Thank you so much, Amy. These little paintings do look great from 3 to 4 feet away!

Jerry, I love your smaller canvas work!...still the amazing details and the ability to stay prolific!....I, too, find I am favoring smaller paper and playing with different media...same HeArtspace...Old-er ingenuity is a WONDERful thing! Your Desert Collections are AMAZING!...LF...BRAVO!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
There are deserts in the Grand Canyon, but here we are at over 7,000 feet elevation...taller than many mountains in the USA and the Kaibab plateau is a lush pine forest. Thank you very much for your visit and comments, Laurel!

Even on tiny canvas, your canyon work stands out ,Jerry! Love the interplay of light and shadow, and the muted, cloudy feel mixed with the bold warmth of the rocks. Well done!
