Description
While looking at Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona photos I took back in December of 2016 to find possible reference photos for new paintings, I found this one taken from Mohave Point. The mid afternoon light was perfect for showing off the magnificent canyon colors. Here, stretching out into the canyon we see a prominent burnt sierra formation called the "Alligator". It seems to point to the Tower of Set and Tonto Platform just across the Black Granite Gorge. To the left we can see the distant Tower of Ra and Scorpion Ridge. to the far distant right we can see a portion of Isis Temple. This is one of the best times of day to see the canyon. The colors are incredibly beautiful and the deep shadows create depth and dimension of the land forms. I have not posted a new photograph of anything since last May but I just had to post this one!

I'd love to travel there one day, but for now~ your AMAZING paintings and photos are perfectly sufficient! BREATHTAKING Jerry!! I can't imagine where you're standing to get that shot!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
This is one place on earth that defies capture, Danielle. It must be seen to be appreciated. It is too vast to reproduce by camera or painting. You have to experience it someday. Thank you so much for your visit and comments!
