Title
Cave Creek Canyon Dusk
Artist
Jerry Bokowski
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
This painting has been juried and selected into a fine art show at the TUBAC CENTER OF THE ARTS. The show is called AQUEOUS and was open to National artists.
This was my first watercolor painting on paper, in decades. Well, almost, a little transparent acrylic thinned to watercolor consistency, too. The setting is near the tiny town of Portal, Arizona. At the intersection of the Chihuahuan and Sonoran deserts.
We are looking west, as the last glimpse of the sun goes behind the rugged towering peaks of Cave Creek Canyon. Part of the eastern Chiricahua Mountains, it has been named the YOSEMITE of Arizona. Yucca blooms, decorate the valley at this peaceful and serene time of day.

Look at the beautiful blends of color you have done here! And with watercolor! It reminds me of silkscreen printing, and we used to call those smooth blends “fountains”. You are truly a master, Jerry. All in your gallery is so breathtaking that I can never decide which painting to comment on, so I shall just keep revisiting and pick away. Like/f

A HUGe Congratulations dear Jerry, for Art Print SALE! As I have stated before, this is totally my kind of painting, as I love the Sonoran Desert flora, the Soaptree Yucca in bloom, being a favorite of mine. Such a stunning backdrop of the gorgeous Chiricahua Mountain range. Of course, the colors, shades, and glow of a sunset is the icing on the cake. Beautifully rendered artwork. Well done! I am sure this piece will give the BUYER much pleasure.

Yes, it was nice to get into a National Juried show, Danielle. There was a large five foot by seven foot water color on paper priced at $25,000.00 that won best in show. I just hope this three hour 9”x12” sells for $275.00! Thank you so much as always, dear Danielle!

I appreciate the compliment about my comments. I think you are a bit prejudice, but so glad you feel that way. Loving support is a great motivator, but the talent has to be there, and you certainly have that. One of the joys I have being on FAA, is getting to share heARTfelt thoughts about fellow artist’s work. I appreciate the well thought out reply too. 💕💕💕💕
