The MITTENS Monument Valley
Artist
Jerry Bokowski
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
The MITTENS of Monument Valley, Arizona, are aptly named. The last minutes of sunlight reflect off the giant monoliths. A rare rain fall creates a magnificent rainbow as Monument Valley receives less than two inches of annual rainfall. The remnants of an old Juniper Trees are a reminder that they can be scarce here. A very ethereal time of day for sure!

Another rainbow! … & more of the change in light in the sky; makes a beautiful painting all the more visually appealing — if that can even be — as the eye moves over the canvas across the beautiful valley panorama;)🍃
Jerry Bokowski replied:
It has been quite awhile since I have painted a rainbow, Connie. So I need to plan a future work featuring one. Thank you so much and know that your words are always very encouraging!

This is a gorgeous take of Monument Valley. I have seen 1000s of pictures and paintings of the Mittens and this is by far my favorite.

Stunning painting, Jerry! It almost pulls me into it, and I can smell the rain as it falls on the red soil... L/F

Lovely mood, atmosphere and lighting depicted Jerry! Glad you moved it to the beginning of your gallery so it will receive the attention deserved. I obviously missed it before, likely distracted by brighter images surrounding it. LF
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Thank you so much for saying so, Malanda. I ALWAYS enjoy reading what you have to say!

I get a very special feeling when I look at this! There is magic, wisdom - there is a feeling for "the moment" and a little bit of a possible danger in it. A combination of antithetical emotions. Great work! I am impressed!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Thank you so much for sharing your impressions on this with me, Nicole. I really appreciate it.
