Description
Back in 1992, a dear friend of mine invited my wife and I to stay at his home in Sedona while we were doing an art show there. The back yard of his beautiful home provided an amazing view of Coffee Pot Rock. His name was Ken Payne. He was a superb artist, sculptor, and story teller of the old west. He owned Mountain Trails Art Gallery, located in Tlaquepaque . Ken passed away in 2012, and is dearly missed. I will always cherish my moments with him and his valuable advice. This painting reminds me of time spent with Ken. Ken's work and legacy live on. You can see his incredible work, his wonderful story telling and how it all came about at "The Adobe Fine Art dot Com" under Ken Payne. He was nearly done working on: Mapping The Frontier , when we were guests in his home. His work was and is amazing!

I did this little “study” of Sedona many years ago so thank you so much, Barbara!

Jerry Bokowski replied:
You are the reason we still have this painting. The series were studies for future paintings of Sedona. It took me 24 years to finally do Freedom...Sedona's Cathedral Rock from an eagle's perspective. Thank you, Janet Marie!

The rainbow prisms bring much light to the lone white flowers. and it seems that the prisim rays could be creating crystal formation n the rocks, (maybe.) i love rainbows. This painting brings much serenity and peace. I love it, FAV
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Kim, Thank you so much! This was a "study" on a small canvas board years ago and I am pleasantly surprised at all the nice comments on it!

Elaine, Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking time to read about Ken. There are still web sites that feature his work and tell about his process that is so interesting. He was above all a wonderful story teller....he taught me the value of a good story about & behind the work...that it is an integral part of the art itself! Jerry

Connie, If you do go, please let me know. I would love to suggest some areas that I feel you would love. I hope to go there soon to look for a gallery there. I was in one a long time ago and the gallery director looked a whole lot like you. Like she could have been a sister or at least a cousin! Thanks, Connie, your words are always so appreciated! Jerry
