It is hard for me to put to words the feelings, sentiments, and emotions one experiences when watching the sunset over the Grand Canyon. It has to be experienced, sitting out on the edge of this grandest abyss on the surface of the earth. Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park, is one of THE Seven Natural Wonders of the world. 277 miles long, 10 to 20 miles wide and over a vertical mile deep. Vast and wonderfully engaging to the visual sensibilities. I love finding a spot away from the crowded viewpoints and then go out on the rocky edge and sit and enJOY the sublime grandeur. We hope to be there for a sunset and sunrise next month in November during the full moon. Just a day dream right now...

Thank you for your kind and generous comments, Tsc! Years ago, I painted Grand Canyon like this...atmospheric layers. But now, I try to capture all the amazing geologic features. In order to accomplish this, one must be willing to spend many days, weeks to paint a large realistic work of the grandest canyon on the planet!
