I have had some comments and questions regarding my custom automotive art so I thought that I would include a few examples of what I used to do....part of my professional art background.
I was commissioned to paint the famous San Xavier Mission in Tucson, Arizona, on BOTH sides of a Custom Van way back in 1977. I blended the art into the existing color of the Van. You can see the drip rail and rear of the sliding door. Below the image was a painted graphic with pinstripes and color fade. The owner of this Van was quite pleased. This was the first and last time I did TWO ( 2 ) identical, highly complex images on both sides of a Van! The image was clear coated, wet sanded and buffed to a smooth mirror like automotive finish.
My canvas art today employs many of the same techniques I used way back then.
I have been in awe of the deserts, mountains, and canyons of the great southwest for over 50 years. Atmospheric events like sunrise and sunsets, approaching storms and monsoon rains, fog and mist, snow, or moonlit nights, just add to the beauty of Arizona and Utah landscapes. This is what inspires a passion within me to capture the mood, drama, and majesty of being there....from being at the foot of a majestic crag or on top of a summit overlooking a distant valley below. I paint real places that one can visit and see. Whether it be Finger Rock of the Catalina Mountains,The Sentinel in Zion National Park, or Mather Point at the Grand Canyon, it is my goal and desire to have my paintings draw a viewer to them and that they become...

Hi Jerry; WOW - I am totally impressed with the quality of work you've done here AND on both sides of the van. What a complex process to go through. If I didn't know any better I would have thought this was a print from a photo of the original church. As I said, this must have been a labor of love. I am sure the owner must have LOVED this very much. Incredible work Jerry!
