You certainly did one beautiful job restoring this Jerry!! Back when cars were just oozing with style~ those little sparkles of reflected sunlight on the front end are the cherry on top! Gorgeous car!!

Jerry Bokowski replied:

I've always loved the contours and sleek lines, especially the long front ends of these! Never had the privilege of owning one but satisfied my craving of a need for speed (and long nose) with an '82 Trans Am. Every year, I think about selling it but can't bring myself to do it! :). LF

Jerry Bokowski replied:

Awww, hope you hang on to the Trans Am, Malanda. I miss my 'Vettes but have fond memories of how FUN these were to drive...just to look at. Thank you for finding this and taking you time to comment on it!

Hi Jerry....Is this the same coupe you had us drive through Sabino Canyon back in the 80's while you were videotaping it? Only time I ever got to drive a Corvette. Wish I had a copy of the video Mick

Jerry Bokowski replied:

Hey Mick, No this was a 1966 and the one you drove was a 1967. Both were blue! We actually drove through Saguaro National Park East. My daughter might have the video somewhere. Great to hear from you!

Artist's Description

This is a 1966, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with a 327/4 speed, that I completely restored inside and out. With the rolling grasslands of the Sonoita Wine & Cattle country in the background, Santa Rita Mountains in the distance.

I used to refinish Vans, Pickups, and Cars from 1976 to 1990. This was a base coat/clear coat paint job, that was wet sanded and buffed to a show-car finish.

I restored seven of these blasts from the past for myself as well as Corvettes for customers. It was part of my Custom Painting and Van Conversion business. It was a lot of work but VERY rewarding when all was said and done! The glass over this image is reflecting my canvas art in my studio in the mountains. Doing art like this now is realizing a passion that I have had for art all my life!

About Jerry Bokowski

Jerry Bokowski

I have been in awe of the deserts, mountains, and canyons of the great southwest for over 50 years. Atmospheric events like sunrise and sunsets, approaching storms and monsoon rains, fog and mist, snow, or moonlit nights, just add to the beauty of Arizona and Utah landscapes. This is what inspires a passion within me to capture the mood, drama, and majesty of being there....from being at the foot of a majestic crag or on top of a summit overlooking a distant valley below. I paint real places that one can visit and see. Whether it be Finger Rock of the Catalina Mountains,The Sentinel in Zion National Park, or Mather Point at the Grand Canyon, it is my goal and desire to have my paintings draw a viewer to them and that they become...
