Description
***I am very honored that this painting was selected to appear in a prestigious Western Art show at the MOUNTAIN OYSTER CLUB in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday, November 22, 2015 and will be on display until January 9, 2016. Thank you to the buyer of this original, from that show***
Winter in Zion National Park can be breathtaking! In late November of 1994 we woke up to a winter wonderland while staying in Springdale. Heavy snow blanketed the valley as we drove though the Canyon. This painting is the day after. On the way back from The Gateway To The Narrows I pulled off the road to take a picture of Angels Landing while fog shrouded the summit. The Virgin River was so blue against the fresh snow and the sunlit canyon walls showcased the vivid colors that Zion is world renowned for! It was this trip that my daughter fell in love with our guest Nick. They got married the following April of 1995. They just celebrated their 25th anniversary!
I told myself that I would like to paint this someday....well, 20 years later, I finally did.

The seemingly undisturbed snow all over the landscape makes one want to jump in and enjoy the day. Always so much talent, Jerry!

Thank you so much! I experienced this scene over 29 years ago. It inspired me to capture it on canvas some 20 years later.

Such a beautiful and inspiring narrative, Jerry, the scenery is made to become unforgettable and timeless and you immortalized it also, in a piece of Art. Well chosen by the buyer of this original!

Your paintings are simply breathtaking. I can feel the coolness of the water and its shady surroundings, and the sunlight on the buttes beyond. The trees and the bushes form wonderful patterns. Like/f
