Description
I have often been named THE ROCK ARTIST by several dear friends on Fine Art America. So I decided to dedicate a painting to the real ancient rock artists of southern Arizona.
It has been written, that ancient Hohokam Native Americans, created these images on rocks between 500 to 1500 years ago, in what is now Saguaro National Park-West, in Tucson, Arizona. In the background we see Twin Peaks on the far left, and Panther Peak on the right. The lush Saguaro studded Sonoran Desert, is experiencing a summer monsoon storm. These storms can cool the hot desert down 20 degrees, and fill the air with the smell of wet Creosote (Chaparral) shrubs.
So this is my artwork, to convey the feeling of being there, to experience all the colors of the Sonoran Desert.

Great portrayal of this petroglyphs way off the beaten path!" A wonderful dedication to the ancient rock artists of Southern Arizona. This piece is aptly titled, as you truly are a "rock artist," with an eye-catching gallery. You certainly have conveyed the feeling of being there, and experiencing all the lovely colors of the Arizona Sonoran Desert! The cactii stand tall like silent, witnesses to the stillness of this surreal landscape!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Renu, Thank you very much. Yes our Sonoran desert and giant Saguaros can look surreal at times to those who have never been there. It does look very much like what you see here in the painting!
