On The Edge of Grandeur
Artist
Jerry Bokowski
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
On a brisk December morning in Grand Canyon, Arizona, Janet and I saw this beautiful view of famous Zoroaster Temple. I thought that it would make for a beautiful painting. We could see the beginning of Bright Angel Canyon where there were giant cottonwood trees still in their fall colors. The depth and breadth of this grandest of all canyons must be seen and experienced to be believed.

Indeed, right on the edge. I love the winter mood here - reminiscent of my lone winter visit to the canyon. The low sunlight, icy atmosphere and deep clouds and a sense of gray stillness are rendered so well here. I can feel the relative beauty and solitude you've depicted of this December day so well. Amazing work as always!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
This does take me back to that cold December morning. My 2nd Grand Canyon painting. Thank you for your continued support!

Jerry, this is a gorgeous, deeply captivating work of art! I did not realize that the formation you have depicted is called Zoroaster Temple! The colors, light/shadow, and composition all do great justice to this remarkable canyon! l/f

Remarkable shadow work here, Jerry, as subtle as the gentle pastel coloured layered rock Mother Nature has bestowed its warm Light upon ; layers upon layers of intricate finery crafted into a majestic scene .. the lone tree both observer & guardian of all; kudos , Jerry!:))
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Once again your words are poetry to my mind and heart, Connie. Thank you as always for all of your encouraging support!
