Description
***This was painted for the Tohono Chul Park annual 10 x 10 Fundraiser. "An Invitational Exhibition of small works by the artists who have made the exhibits at Tohono Chul shine throughout the last year."*** THANK YOU to the BUYER, for the purchase of this original, at this SHOW! I really appreciate the SALE.
Here we see famous Elephant Head Rock, in the Santa Rita Mountain range, from nearby Tubac, Arizona. This area of high Sonoran Desert, features countless Ocotillos. Most of the time they resemble dry, skinny, thorny, sticks.
Spring transforms them into leafy lush looking plants with gorgeous bright red blossoms as we see here. I love this time of year in the Arizona desert.

Of course I have visited here before as it has been given attention for special features in groups, including one of "Janet's Jubilations" in Beauty of Arizona. I can see why you would have a buyer of this one at the Show and Sale fundraiser. It is sheer Ocotillo Opulence indeed! I love how you get in close, highlighting the vibrant blooms against an iconic landmark of Arizona, Elephant Head Rock. Just MarveloUs! Sharing on Facebook.

Just love the ocotillo bloom in the foreground on the Elephant Head! You have really nailed this series!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Thank you, Chance. 10x10s make for challenging composition for some reason. So used to vertical and horizontal formats!
Laurel Adams
Your Light work is so beautiful, Jerry!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
As you know, a 10x10 canvas panel requires you to work small, Laurel. So thank you very much!
