Description
Last April 2014 I helped my son in law build a deck and porch for his cabin near Heber, Arizona. From the roof of the porch looking northwest I could see the San Francisco Peaks in the distance. I keep telling Nick to build a spiral staircase and railing on his porch in order to see this amazing view. The snow capped peaks rise well over 12,000 above sea level. Urban legend has it that they got their name from a person that said they were so tall you could see all the way to San Francisco from there. The elevation here at 6,300 feet provides a break from the desert heat. Winter grasslands are dotted with Pinion pine, Juniper, and Cedar trees. There is a feeling of solitude here that offers a break from the noise, crowds, traffic, hustle and bustle of city life!

Paying a revisit to this beautiful landscape - love the arid golden grasslands giving away to the peaks and the deep dark blue sky - the sky is always a bit darker and bluer at the higher elevations, and I sense that here!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Thanks alot, Chance. Yep, far less dust, pollution in the air up there at around 6,800 feet!
Chance Kafka
I love what you've done with the atmosphere. Dramatic, striking, simple but complex, this is a great interpretation of Arizona's highest peaks! Love the description too.

I'm sure you know much more of this wonderful places, than I ever can visit as a tourist - your great artworks displays it! To visit your gallery, let come memories back - especially the huge areas of the open land, blue sky - with colored rocks and mountains in the background (you really paint this perfect). This kind of landscape is very fascinating and I love it so much - it is so different from Germany! I made more than 20.000 miles, in 7 journeys (by car), through the wonderful wonder of nature of the USA many years ago. Thanks for sharing your wonderful artworks :-)...
Jerry Bokowski replied:
I am touched by your comments, Ingrid. Someday maybe you can make a list for me of the places you visited and ones that were your favorite. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. They are very appreciated!
