Description
Rain on the upper plateaus of Zion National Park can produce wonderful waterfalls. This view of the famous Great White Throne can be seen from the Weeping Rock trail head. The trail to Observation Point begins here as well. Atmosphere and weather can create some sublime effects. The sandstone colors of the lower canyon walls become very dark when wet while the rains create a shiny sheen on the giant cliffs. Rain and clouds shroud the Great White Throne and make it seem even taller as it towers over 2,000 above the Virgin River Valley. Add some fall colors along with the brisk, moist air and "canyon scent" and you have an unforgettable day. I've enjoyed several days like this in November, December and January and whether it is rain or snow it is breathtaking. This is my attempt to share this incredible place!

Just now seeing this one for the first time. I am not sure what to say other than it blows my mind. The crisp, colorful, detailed textures in the foreground contrast perfectly with the muted, misty background. The lighting, color, landscape and everything are perhaps artistic perfection. I like so much of your stuff but this just might be my new favorite!
